TRAFFIC AWARENESS INITIATIVES

TRAFFIC AWARENESS INITIATIVES ACROSS INDIA

Organized By: GHRT International

The Global Human Rights Trust (GHRT) International has been actively leading a widespread road safety mission across India. Under the leadership of Chairman and Founder Dr. H.R. Rehman, the organization has successfully conducted over 10 traffic awareness camps, reaching critical regions from the northern hills to the western plains.

Key Highlights

The campaign's primary goal is to foster a culture of safety and law-abiding behavior among two-wheeler riders. By providing free, high-quality helmets, GHRT addresses the financial barrier that often prevents people in remote or economically disadvantaged areas from using proper safety gear.

Impact

Distribution of more than 1,000 helmets to date.

Methodology

The camps combine free distribution with educational seminars, where local traffic authorities (such as SSPs and Traffic Police) teach riders about the "Three-Finger Rule" (fit) and the legal implications of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Partnerships

The drives are often held in collaboration with local administration and traffic police departments to ensure maximum outreach.

Reach & Locations

The organization has strategically targeted both high-traffic urban centers and remote rural areas to maximize life-saving impact.

Region
Specific Areas Covered
Key Focus
Jammu & Kashmir
Sangaldan, Ramban, Jammu, Udhampur
High-altitude road safety and awareness for youth in hilly terrains.
Arunachal Pradesh
Various districts
Reaching remote northeastern communities with limited access to safety gear.
Maharashtra
Major traffic junctions
Urban awareness to reduce fatalities in high-density traffic zones.

Why This Matters

Road accidents remain a leading cause of death in India. Studies show that wearing a standardized helmet can reduce the risk of fatal head injuries by up to 42%. By targeting youth and students in places like Ramban and Udhampur, GHRT is embedding safety habits in the next generation of riders.

Note: The GHRT is registered under the Trust Registration Act 1882 and is empanelled with NITI AAYOG, reflecting its commitment to national social development goals.
